Electricity storage systems are becoming increasingly important for more and more companies. This is because using an electricity storage system can more than double the proportion of self-consumption. As a result, the savings in operating costs are considerable.
Solar power generated by photovoltaic systems can either be consumed by companies themselves or fed into the grid. Self-generated electricity is significantly cheaper, as no electricity tax, grid fees and levies are incurred. However, often only around 30 percent of one‘s own electricity generated is actually useable, as the PV systems mainly produce a surplus of electricity, at midday and in summer. Electricity storage systems for commerce and industry offer a solution here by storing the surplus and making it available at times of high demand.
This method can double self-consumption of self-generated electricity on average. With intelligent load management, increases of up to 80 percent are even possible. Electricity storage systems therefore become more economical as electricity consumption increases. Another efficient way to increase economic efficiency is to use peak load reduction, which can significantly reduce the cost of peak load electricity.
